📜 THE LORE

You are trapped inside an ancient, procedurally carved stone labyrinth. The Pale Monster (SCP-096) lurks in the far corner, guarding the locked exit gates. To survive, you must navigate the twisting halls, search for 3 ancient keys to unlock the stairs, and escape before the creature tracks your scent and runs you down.

🎮 HOW TO PLAY & CONTROLS

Movement: Use WASD or ▲◀▼▶ arrow keys to move.
Smooth Turning: In 3D raycaster mode, press A / D or ◀ / ▶ to turn your camera by 90°. Tap Space for a fast 180° snap turn.
Dual Perspectives: Press C at any time to switch between 3D First-Person Raycaster and 2D Top-Down Tactical view.
Pause & Guide: Press H to pause the game and open the help menu.

🎒 ITEMS & WHAT THEY DO

🔑 Keys: Collect all 3 to unlock the exit gates.

🔥 Torch: Illuminates pitch-black Dark Zones where you are completely blind.

⚡ Stun Shot: Press 1 to freeze the monster for 3.5s (up to 10 tiles away).

🧱 Block: Press 2 to drop a barricade behind you that temporarily halts the beast.

🗺️ Map Scroll: Instantly reveals the full labyrinth layout.

🏃 Sprint: Press Shift for a 1.5s burst of speed to escape tight corners.

⚠️ THE HUNT & SURVIVAL RULES

Awakening: The monster begins asleep. The moment you collect your first key, it awakens and stalks towards you using optimal BFS pathfinding.
The Gaze & Chase: If you step into its line of sight, it lets out a bloodcurdling scream (Windup phase) and charges into a deadly sprint that outpaces your normal walking speed.
Pitch-Black Zones: Certain sectors are completely dark — without the Torch in your inventory, you cannot see anything inside them.
Difficulty Scaling: Each difficulty level presets different item supplies, enemy chase speeds, and number of hunters.
